  1. Crime in America: Perceptions, reality, and real solutions: Ana leads a conversation with Adam Gelb and Aqeela Sherrills on what new FBI data and recent crime trends are telling us, and how we can actually address crime NOW while reducing reliance on the justice system as a catch all.
  2. Policy & Politics: Ana pivots to join David Safavian and Insha Rahman in conversation about the current political discourse on criminal justice issues—political polarization, the upcoming election, tough on crime platforms, and the work of transforming the justice system in red, blue, and purple states. It will be important to highlight public support for these issues and how to create the right permission structures for Ds and Rs. They will also flag policy trends to watch, and share best practices and pitfalls for reporting on this issue in elections.
  3. Reporting in Partnership: Ruth Baldwin talks about some of the major challenges and opportunities in reporting on the justice system today—as an outlet solely dedicated to this issue. She will also discuss TMP's unique approach to local partnerships, the resources they have for journalists, and how to navigate things like engaging sources who are incarcerated.
